Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP) + Training

You will receive 4-hours of state-mandated classroom followed by 8-hours of range training for our CFP course.   We’ve found that most people attend a 4-hour classroom session with another instructor, apply for their permit, but develop no sense of comfort with carrying the firearm.  Our class is designed to start you on the road to actually carrying the firearm concealed.  

This baseline training will build comfort in safe handling, holstering, loading, unloading, reloading, clearing a Type 1 or Type 2 malfunction, and accurately engaging targets. This course is the “gatekeeper” course for our advancing pistol and specialty pistol courses, and is a prerequisite for most. 100 rounds (Outside the waistband, OWB, holsters only). No sub-compact or itty bitty guns for this class. If you do not yet have a firearm or the required gear for the class, we offer complete loaner kits at no cost. Included is a Glock pistol, model is based on fit factors. See required and prohibited items on the website. 

PREREQUISITE: Attendee must possess a current CFP or be eligible to obtain one (go to Utah CFP website, www.utah.gov, to determine eligibility), or waiver by SRW Staff.

If you do not have specific equipment for the training, DON’T go out and buy without talking to us first about what to buy and where to buy it. We also have complete range kits for you to use for the training AT NO COST. No steel jacket or steel core bullets on the range. If you have problems getting ammunition for the course, it will be available on the range, email us for ammo prices. All courses are subject to minimum student number requirements and will be canceled one week prior to the course start if minimum numbers are not reached.
